We will look closer at the creation of Geomagnetically Induced Currents (GICs) and its relation to the Earth’s atmosphere. Additionally, we will discuss the interdependencies within critical infrastructure with a focus on the railway transport sector and the risks and vulnerabilities created from such dependencies. Lastly, a set of mitigation measures will be presented.
