C H A P T E R N ° 22 Space Weather and The Road Transport Sector
Dear reader,
SR Hoplon is delighted to present its latest article.
In today’s post we will look closer at the relation between space weather, the road transport sector, and ground transportation systems. Moreover, we will discuss the effects from this natural hazard on the energy sector and satellite industry, and the consequential cascading effects on ground transportation systems like roads, traffic signals, and ground-based communication networks.
Additionally, SR Hoplon will present and discuss the relation between space weather and today’s electrical vehicles (EVs) and vehicles of the future, that is; artificially intelligent (AI) 5G vehicles (i.e., autonomous/self-driven cars). Lastly, mitigation measures will be presented and discussed.

C H A P T E R N ° 20 The May 2024 Space Weather Event
Dear reader,
SR Hoplon is delighted to present its latest article.
In today’s post, we will explore the May 2024 space weather event. We will look closer at the cause and what happened during the event, and how this storm emphasizes some of the vulnerabilities within critical space and terrestrial (ground-based) infrastructures, such as the energy sector.
Moreover, we will discuss why this event highlights the need for better space weather forecasting and warning capabilities, and the vulnerabilities within the modern-day agricultural sector.

C H A P T E R N ° 19 Space Weather, The Rail Transport Sector, and Mitigation Measures
Dear reader,
SR Hoplon is delighted to present its latest article.
In today’s post, we will furtherly explore the relation between space weather and the railway transport sector. We will look closer at the creation of Geomagnetically Induced Currents (GICs) and its relation to the Earth’s atmosphere. Additionally, we will discuss the interdependencies within critical infrastructure with a focus on the railway transport sector and the risks and vulnerabilities created from such dependencies. Lastly, a set of mitigation measures will be presented.

C H A P T E R N ° 17 The 1972 Black Swan Event
Dear reader
SR Hoplon is delighted to present its latest article.
In today’s post we will explore the neglected 1972 ‘Black Swan’ space weather event. We will look closer at what happened and how this storm highlights the critical space and terrestrial infrastructure’s vulnerability to similar space weather events. Additionally, we will discuss what caused the U.S. Navy to initiate a thorough investigation with personnel from the National Academy of Science, the National Oceanic Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), various U.S. Naval laboratories, and the Naval Post Graduate School.
